Kenpo Kids

Kenpo Kids – Early (3-4)

In this stage of development children are generally learning some of the following:

  • Naming familiar colors
  • Counting, and the concept of counting
  • Sorting objects by color and shape
  • Coordination skills including, climbing, hopping, running, kicking, and throwing

Kids have very active imaginations during this period and usually love to play. We focus on nurturing and developing these skills in this class with various activities that integrate some martial arts techniques in a fun playful atmosphere. This class is 30 minutes.

Kenpo Kids – Basic (5-6)

During these years children usually continue to build on the following:

  • Coordination
  • Counting and colors
  • Ability to focus
  • Coordination
  • Counting and colors
  • Ability to focus

Kids this age tend to be very enthusiastic learners. They are usually creative and starting to problem solve on their own. In this class we use drills and games that build more on coordination, balance, discipline, and focus. This class is 45 minutes.

Kenpo Kids – Core (7-9)

During these years children are typically developing:

In this age group we use drills and games that focus primarily on developing speed, agility, concentration, and perseverance. In this class we start adding additional Kenpo martial arts
techniques.

Teen Kenpo (10-14)

The teen classes are the transition point from Kenpo Kids eventually leading to the adult classes. The benefits of this program are:

  • Increased Physical Fitness
  • Better coordination
  • Better ability to Focus
  • Increased Self-confidence
  • Increased Self-esteem
  • A means of self-protection

In the teen Kenpo program we start introducing and building on the fundamentals of Shaolin Kenpo Karate and self-defense skills.
