This is the fast, fluid, wildly fun and utterly accessible martial art developed and taught by Great Grandmaster Ralph Castro, Sibok Meyer's instructor.  It is the martial art for real people, and it is stunningly effective.

Running Tiger is the only school in the Midwest to teach Shaolin Kenpo Karate as developed and taught by Great Grandmaster Ralph Castro. Our fee structure is based upon a monthly rate which allows students to choose between attending classes once per week, or as often as desired. There are no contracts required.

What distinguishes Shaolin Kenpo from other martial arts is its emphasis on defending against multiple attackers. Techniques focus on combination strikes and changing direction. The end result is the ability to launch five or more strikes directed at more than one attacker in rapid sequence. Its focus on technique makes Shaolin Kenpo an accessible martial art, suitable for all, regardless of age, ability or athleticism. This emphasis on technique and precision enables students to learn effective self-defense in short order.

Shaolin Kenpo covers the full range of components that comprise a balanced, well-rounded martial art.  It offers incredibly effective self-defense training and enhances the practitioner’s concentration, physical fitness, learning ability, confidence, self-discipline and personal motivation as well.

Running Tiger PatchThe Running Tiger patch represents our school as well as our lineage. In 2003, Great Grandmaster Castro formally awarded David Meyer the dance, Running Tiger. The fist, characterized as mountains, is Great Grandmaster’s logo and also represents his dance, Mountain Meets River. The lightening bolt represents Great Great Grandmaster, William Kwai Sun “Thunderbolt” Chow and the eagle represents Sibok Joseph Chacon, Eagle Talon.
